Are you a teacher-aide or are you considering employment
as a teacher-aide or substitute? If you qualify the
State of Texas Educational Aide Program can provide substantial tuition
and fee support while you earn an undergraduate degree and certification!
Assistantships
Assistantships are available in a variety of settings, depending upon
the program. Remuneration includes either a nine- or twelve-month stipend
for a halftime appointment plus a reduction in certain fees and tuition
(if applicable). An
online application is available.
Loans, Fellowships, and Grants
Financial assistance for students pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree
is usually available to qualified applicants in the form of student loans
or work-study programs. For information on work opportunities on campus
and additional economic assistance, consult the Scholarships and Financial
Aid handbook in the Student Financial Aid Office (310 West Hall, Box 45011,
phone 806-742-3681). Information concerning graduate student scholarships
is available through the College of Education (Box 41071, phone 806-742-1997
extension 266). Most application deadlines for scholarships and assistantships
occur in the early spring (March 1).
