EDCI 5371 Curriculum and Instruction in M/S Ed - involves an examination of research and theory in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation with an emphasis on the current research in mathematics and science. (Spring, odd years)
EDCI 5372 Assessment Issues in M/S Ed – Assessment should be an ongoing activity to gain insights about students’ understandings and it is a critical link among curriculum, teaching, and learning. This course will give students the opportunity to explore current issues related to assessment, multiple dimensions of assessment, and the process of assessment. (Spring, odd years)
EDCI 5373 Project-Based Instruction in M/S Ed - emphasizes the contents, technologies, instructional strategies, and assessments necessary in designing and developing an interdisciplinary project-enhanced environment. (Spring, even years)
EDCI 5374 Multicultural Curriculum in M/S – examines curriculum and diversity. It explores how curriculum content, process, and climate in science/mathematics are influenced by culture, race, ethnicity, and SES. (Fall, odd years)
EDCI 5376 History of Math and Science Education in M/S Ed –provides an historical account and an analysis of the impact of significant people, events, and discoveries in science and mathematics education over time. (Fall, odd years)
EDCI 5377 Technology in M/S Ed - explores the appropriate use of technology as a tool to promote mathematics, science, and integrated mathematical and scientific learning. There will be a focus on the current research on technology in mathematics/science education. (Spring, even years)
EDCI 5380 Action Research in M/S Ed - This course attempts to weave the experience of teachers and their knowledge of effective teaching practices with sound educational research, Teachers will learn about quantitative and qualitative research design, write a literature review on a topic they wish to research, and design a research project suitable for implementation in their classroom. (Fall, odd years)
EDEL 6370 Studies in Mathematics Education* – in-depth studies of variable topics in research and instructional practices pertaining to mathematics education. (Spring, even years and Summer)
EDEL 6375 Studies in Science Education* – in-depth studies of variable topics in research and instructional practices pertaining to science education. (Spring, odd years and Summer)
