Janie Ramirez, Outreach Specialist and Executive Director, South Plains Closing the Gap P-120, is a regional award winner of the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) 2011 Region 17 Advocate of the Gifted Award.
She will be considered for selection in the State Advocate of the Gifted award process, which will be completed by August. TAGT connects and empowers educators and parents to meet the unique needs of gifted and talented individuals through awareness, advocacy and action. The largest state association of its kind, TAGT, has a long and proud history of serving gifted education in Texas.
This is an uncertain time in Texas schools, and TAGT members are working diligently to ensure that gifted children and their advocates continue to be served by innovative and meaningful programs.
