About Texas Tech

Texas Tech Student Fans celebrate holding a TTU flagTexas Tech University, located in Lubbock, Texas, is a state-supported, coeducation institution with a total student population of over 24,000. The campus is the second largest university campus in the U.S., situated on 1,839 acres and features expansive lawns and impressive landscaping together with unique Spanish Renaissance-style red-tile-roofed buildings.

Texas Tech has ten colleges: Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Architecture, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Human Sciences, The Honors College, Mass Communications, Visual & Performing Arts as well as schools of law and medicine/allied health.

Tech is a rising star among the younger research universities and was recently reclassified as a Tier 1 Research University on the Carnegie classification rankings. Students come from all 50 states and 80 foreign countries.

In the past nine years funding for thriving research programs has more than doubled and the university's endowment has more than tripled.
