How-To Guides:
Access COE Shared Directories
Background
The COE presently uses 2 different shared directories for file sharing:
-
In the computer labs, the PUBLIC folder on the "Starbuck" server is used for students and faculty to save and share files. All files in this PUBLIC folder are public access: anyone can save or open files in this directory or the subdirectories of PUBLIC.
-
For internal purposes, COE faculty and staff utilize a different network directory named SHARE$ on the "EDUCJCN" server. This shared directory is dividied into a PUBLIC and PRIVATE areas. Xerox scanned PDF documents from the mailroom are saved in the PUBLIC / XEROX folder. Files in the PRIVATE directory are restricted access, depending on the area(s) to which faculty/staff are assigned.
These shared directories are available / mappable on computers connected to the TTU Network here at TTU, or when your computer has a successful connection to the TTU Virtual Private Network (VPN). More info about configuring a VPN connection is available.
A valid COE domain username and password is required to access these shared network resources. Please direct questions about COE domain user accounts to COE Technology Network Support.
