Before starting, make sure:

  1. You have your Eraider or TLTC Frontpage account information (web address, userid, password)
  2. Frontpage is installed on your computer. If you do not have it, TTU students/faculty/staff can either:
    1. Download a copy from www.eraider.ttu.edu
    2. Purchase a copy for $5 from High Tech Computer Store in the UC basement

OPEN YOUR WEB IN FRONTPAGE:

From the FILE menu, choose OPEN WEB:

Type the full address of your eRaider or TLTC website:

htttp://webpages.acs.ttu.edu/userid

This will create a new "web folder" on your computer which you can open subsequently instead of typing this complate address again. You will always be required to enter your userid and password to open the site, however. DO NOT click the checkbox to "Remember My Password" if you are using a lab or other public use computer. That would allow other computer users to access your website and alter content.

Start with a TEMPLATE website

If desired, students can Download a set of webpage template files: www.educ.ttu.edu/portfolio/template.zip

  1. Download / save this file to your desktop.
  2. Double click the file. If Winzip or another file expansion utility is installed on your computer (it should be), it should open this compressed / zip file and show the contents. Click EXTRACT and choose to copy the entire folder to your MY DOCUMENTS folder.
  3. Close Winzip.
  4. Open My Documents, and right click the folder you just extracted (it is named PORTFOLIO.) Choose COPY.
  5. With your website open in Frontpage, right click in the Folder List and choose PASTE. A new folder on your website should be created (named "portfolio") containing several template files, which you can now edit as desired.
