How To Guides:
Burn CD Copy of eRaider Website

Students can complete these steps either in our ECC Windows lab or at another computer with interent access and a CD burner. In either case, students must provide their own blank CD-R for burning. These are not provided by the College of Education.

Step 1: Publish / Download a local copy of your website from the server

MS Frontpage

MM Dreamweaver
or
  1. Open your eRaider website in Frontpage. (Help available.)
  2. From the FILE menu, choose PUBLISH.
  3. Choose the path to the folder where you want the local copy saved temporarily.
    1. If you are in the ECC Windows lab, your path should be DESKTOP, PUBLIC FOLDER, then create a new folder with your last name, the word eRaider, and the date as the title. Example: "Smith eraider 17 Feb 03"
    2. If you are on another computer (not in one of our labs), make your path the DESKTOP of your computer, then create a new folder with your last name, the word eRaider, and the date as the title. Example: "Smith eraider 17 Feb 03"
  4. Do NOT use any special characters in the folder name ( . / * etc)

  6. Quit Frontpage.
  1. Open your eRaider website in Dreamweaver. (Help available - Use instructions for FTP when you configure your remote site.)
  2. Connect to the remote site.
  3. Click once in the left pane (remote side) on the folder you want to make a CD copy of.

  5. Quit Dreamweaver.

Step 2: Burn Folder Contents to CD

If you are in one of our College labs:

If you are using a computer somewhere else:

  1. Write down the exact name of the folder you created in the public folder on a piece of paper.
  2. Take this paper and your blank CD-R to Joe Gonzaga in room 260 (located by our labs) and politely ask him to burn you a copy of the folder you just created in the Public folder.
  1. Make sure the computer you are using has a CD recorder. If it does not, you will need to copy the offline copy of your eRaider website to a zip disk (a floppy will probably not be big enough) and take it to a computer with a CD burner.
  2. Use installed CD burning software to make a CD copy of your eRaider folder.
