What is WebCT?

WebCT is course management solution (CMS) software that provides a wide variety of interactive online options for instructors and students. You can contact TLTC at tltcwebctconsult@ttu.edu for any help with WebCT. ONLY FACULTY (not students) can email for help.

How is a WebCT website different from a personal faculty website?

Can post text and images?
Can post articles for readings in PDF format?		* not password protected, however
Can include links to other Internet resources?
Can include a gradebook?
Can include discussion boards / bulletin boards?		(Can be included for Frontpage sites maintained by the TLTC.)
Can include a course calendar that students can edit / add to?
Can include an interactive chatroom?
Can track student usage of included web resources?
Can include content modules that include searching and glossary functionality?
Can include interactive quizzes and tests?
Is instructionally supported (as well as technically supported) by the TTU IT Department, TLTC staff, and COE Faculty Support?

When my students have technical problems with WebCT? Who do they call?

• Students should call the TTU IT Helpdesk at 742-HELP or toll free at 877-484-3573.

How can I request that a WebCT course be setup for me?

• How to request a WebCT course.
• If you have never used WebCT before at TTU, contact a member of the faculty support team for assistance, and they will submit the course creation request for you.
• Once a WebCT course is requested, Tony Rando in the TTU IT Division creates the course and should notify the instructor it is available.
