Personal Faculty Websites:
Guidelines & Helpful Tips

Faculty in the TTU College of Education have several options regarding the creation and maintenance of a personal faculty website. This website can be a single page or multiple pages. Examples are available on our current Course / Instructor Pages. A professional faculty website is different from a WebCT Course website. TLTC staff encouraging faculty to take webpage workshops on either Front Page or Dreamweaver.

Weblog Hosted by Blogger.com or another free web-based blog service *
Can be linked from COE Course/Instructor Pages and People Finder?
Can support Frontpage Extensions?

How do I request a setup?

If you need a FrontPage site, contact tltcwebconsult@ttu.edu at the TLTC.

If you plan to use other software (like Dreamweaver) to edit your website,Contact tltcwebconsult@ttu.edu at the TLTC

* Websites hosted by Blogger.com can be updated by logging into Blogger from any Internet-connected computer, using your userid and password. Macintosh users should use the free Firefox web browser instead of Safari when updating Blogger sites, since Firefox has better Java support / supports more font and link customization features within Blogger.

Once you decide where your professional faculty website will be hosted, you need to choose from several different design options.

Current design options for College of Education Faculty include:

 

Do It Yourself Without Training

Have Faculty Support Staff Create a "static" page

Do It Yourself With TLTC Training

Have Your Research Assistant Do It With TLTC Training
Can be updated frequently
Requires Training
Can be updated only once per semester

 

Faculty and Research Assistance can attend web design and graphic design courses taught by TLTC staff at no charge. A listing of current TLTC courses is available, along with online registration.
