Students enrolled in the Educational Psychology program earn a
Master's and/or doctoral degree in Educational Psychology with a variety
of areas of emphasis (e.g., Learning and Motivation, Human Development,
Multicultural Education, and Research, Measurement, and Statistics). A
minimum of 36 semester credit hours is required for the granting of a
Master of Education degree. Students pursuing a Master's degree can choose
between option of a Master's degree with or without a thesis. A minimum
of 99 semester credit hours is required for the granting of a doctoral
of Education degree. Applicants to both Master's and Doctoral programs
must first apply to and be cleared by the TTU Graduate School before being
reviewed and approved by the Educational Psychology faculty. Admission
to a Master's program doesn't constitute admission to a doctoral program
later. Applicants without a strong background in psychology may be required
to complete leveling courses before unconditional admission to the Master's
or Doctoral program.
