Comprehensive Examination
All Elementary Education master's degree students must pass a comprehensive
examination prior to receiving their degree. Students are permitted
to take the examination during their last semester of coursework. The
examination is offered once each semester. The student fee for the examination
is currently $30. Students choose 3 faculty membersto write questions for
their exam. The faculty members must be contacted at least 2 months prior
to the exam to make the appropriate arrangements. Students must apply
to take the examination in the office of the College of Education Associate
Dean for Graduate Studies and Research (education Room 105). Since deadlines
for applying to take the exam apply, students are encouraged to inquire
about the procedures in their last year of course enrollment.
