Special Education Undergraduate Program
The goal of the Undergraduate Special Education Teacher Preparation program is to prepare preservice teachers to teach students with a range of abilities and disabilities by providing both the knowledge-base through classroom instruction as well early and intensive field based experiences. The program provides the student with information and experience with a variety of students from diverse backgrounds. The Undergraduate Teacher Preparation program for Generic Special Education recognizes the necessity for preservice teachers to gain practical experience in a variety of settings where children with special needs receive service. The program also promotes the invaluable contributions of mentor teachers to the development of quality special educators.
