Robin Lock, Ph.D.
Biography
Robin H. Lock, Ph.D. is an associate professor in the Texas Tech University College of Education Special Education program. Her research interests include transition to adulthood for individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, mental retardation, and learning disabilities, family issues in dealing with disabilities specifically autism spectrum disorders, and teacher preparation for children with disabilities including the area of learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Lock has over 35 publications including a book entitled Assessing Students with Special Needs to Produce Quality Outcomes. Additionally, she has presented over 45 national presentations. Dr. Lock has garnered over three million dollars in external funding including private donations, foundation grants, state grants, and federal flow-through dollars for research in the area of autism spectrum disorders. Most recently, she directs a grant through Wagner Peyser funding entitled "The Lubbock Transitional Workforce Project" which explores research-based methods for improving employment outcomes for individuals with pervasive development disabilities through personal and employer support and training. Dr. Lock maintains an active service agenda including work on the editioral review boards for Intervention in School and Clinic, Remedial and Special Education, and the National Academic Advising Association.
