Leann DiAndreth-Elkins, Ed.D

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Leann DiAndreth-Elkins, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the College of Education. She received her Ed.D. and M.Ed. in Special Education from Texas Tech University, and her M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education and B.S. in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her current faculty position, she developed the TECHniques Center at Texas Tech University, a unique academic support program which provides transition assistance, study skills training, content tutoring, and academic coaching to college students with learning disabilities and AD/HD. Dr. Elkins provides transition seminars for students with disabilities in local middle and high schools. She is also involved with the University of Texas at Austin’s early mathematics intervention project and works with elementary schools in West Texas who are conducting assessments and interventions for struggling students in K-2 nd grade. Dr. Elkins serves the editor for the Council for Educational Diagnostic Services Communiqué, a division of the Council for Exceptional Children, and as a proposal reviewer for the CEC annual convention.
