Short Biography
Patricia Watson's areas of specialization focus on young adolescent and adolescent literacy and literature and middle level education. Her career in education began in Missouri where she was a high school and junior high language arts and reading teacher and a reading specialist for fifteen years before moving to higher education. Dr. Watson's professional interests include the development of public school - university partnerships that benefit K-12 students and teachers while providing mentoring relationships for preservice teachers. Dr. Watson has been published in Voices from the Middle, Language Arts, Childhood Education, and the Middle School Journal. She is co-editor of a book soon to be published by the Association of Childhood Education International. Each chapter of the volume will present an exemplary middle level teacher integrating literacy into the content areas.
