Jody Dennis
Short Biography
Mrs. Jody Dennis earned a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English and Language Arts from Lubbock Christian University in December 1998. In January 1999, Mrs. Dennis was hired at Lubbock High School, where she taught English II, English II-Honors, English III, Journalism I, TAAS Reading, and coached UIL (University Interscholastic League) Spelling. During her eight years at Lubbock High School, she served on numerous state, district, and campus committees. In May 2001, Mrs. Dennis earned a Masters of Educational Administration degree from Lubbock Christian University. In August 2001, she began teaching as an adjunct professor for Texas Tech University and taught post-baccalaureate students in Project REAL (Recruiting Educators through Alternative Licensure), which is a five year transition to teaching grant funded by the United States Department of Education. Project REAL is designed to provide high quality, fast-track secondary alternative certification courses within a professional development school model. In addition, Project REAL focuses on recruiting, equipping, and retaining increasing numbers of minority teachers to the field of education. In January 2006, Mrs. Dennis joined Texas Tech University as a full time instructor in both the language literacy program and the secondary education program
