Alyson Mitchell
Short Biography:
Alyson Mitchell earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University in 1994. She went on to teach for ten years in the Lubbock Independent School District teaching kindergarten, first and second grade at Brown Elementary, Ramirez Elementary, and Bean Elementary. While teaching in the primary grades, she completed her Masters Degree in Language and Literacy from Texas Tech University in 1999. As a part of her graduate degree work, Mrs. Mitchell trained as a literacy coordinator for the school district through Texas Tech University. She worked as a literacy coordinator, training and supporting teachers in their instruction of literacy, while continuing to work with children. In January of 2004, Mrs. Mitchell joined the College of Education and Language Literacy program as a full time instructor.
