Gonzalo Ramirez

short biography

Gonzalo Ramírez is a part-time instructor in the Department of Bilingual and Diversity Studies . He holds a B.S. in Education from Lubbock Christian University, M.Ed. from Texas Tech University and an Ed.D. from Texas Tech University. He has over 30 years of experience as an educator. He has previously been employed as an elementary teacher at Hardwick Elementary in the Lubbock Independent School District, an assistant principal in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch (C-FB) ISD, principal in Lamesa ISD and C-FB ISD, Coordinating Director for Pre-K, Biingual/ESL Education in Richardson ISD, Director for Bilingual and ESL Education at C-FB ISD, assistant superintendent for the Lamesa ISD and university professor at Lubbock Christian University, Texas Women’s University, University of North Texas, and Richland College.

He has also served as president of the Llano Estacado Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, Bilingual Education for the Metroplex, and The Rotary Club in Lamesa. He has served on several boards including: City of Carrollton, Texas Multicultural Committee, Texas Association for Supervisors and Curriculum Development and Texas Education Agency State Textbook Review.

Dr. Gonzalo Ramírez’s primary interest involves the use of multiethnic children’s literature to enhance self-esteem as well as teaching courses in school law, education psychology, bilingual education/ESL, and issues related to school administration.
