Educator Certification Plans

Three different categories of certification plans are available:

Initial Undergraduate Certification
Initial PostBac Certification (you have a bachelor's degree but need certification)
Advanced Certification Plans (you already have a bachelor's degree and initial certification)

Initial Undergraduate Certification Plans

Early Childhood (EC-6^th Grade) Generalist

4^th – 8^th Grade

8^th – 12^th Grade Secondary (* denotes 6^th – 12^th grade programs)

All Level Programs (Pre-K – 12^th Grade)

IInitial PostBaccalaureate (PostBac) Certification Plans

Elementary (EC-6^th Grade)

Program consists of nine [9] pedagogy classes plus student teaching.

Middle Level (4^th – 8^th Grade)

Program consists of seven [7] - ten [10] pedagogy classes, student teaching, and appropriate coursework in the content area.

Secondary (8^th – 12^th Grade) (* denotes 6^th – 12^th grade programs)

Program consists of five [5] pedagogy classes, student teaching, and appropriate coursework in the content area.

All Level Programs (Pre-K – 12^th Grade)

Program consists of five [5] pedagogy classes, student teaching, and appropriate coursework in the content area.

Advanced Certification Plans

Note: An initial teaching certificate is required for these programs

Supplemental Certificates (additional certifications that attach to an initial teaching certificate)

Professional Certificates (Masters degree and teaching experience required)
