Data Sources Available in the COE Research Lab:

Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS). The AEIS pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. These reports provide extensive information on staff, finances, programs, and demographics for each campus and district. AEIS data are aggregated by campus, district, region, or state. The Research Lab has archived AEIS from the 1999-2000 to 2005-2006 school years. More information on AIES can be found here: TEA AEIS

National Education Longitudinal Study (NELS:88). The Research Lab has the NELS:88 CD available for use. Information about NELS can be found here: NELS

School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS). The School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS) is the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics' (NCES) primary source of school-level data on crime and safety. The SSOCS is a nationally representative cross-sectional survey of about 3,000 public elementary and secondary schools. The Research Lab has the SSOCS 2000 CD (which includes public-use data files, User's Manual, and detailed data documentation) available for use. Information about SSOCS can be found here: NCES SSOCS
