Scholarship Information

The College of Education provides competitive scholarships for students in degree programs in education, including Special Education.  Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply online through the TTU Scholarship system.  Only applications received through the online system will be eligible for College of Education scholarships.  

Application deadline (online) is  February 1st.  College of Education Scholarship Award letters will be sent to students no later than May 31st for scholarships for the next academic year.

The following scholarships are specifically for students with an interest in autism. 

Burkhart Family Fellowship for Autism Education & Research -  Doctoral students who are currently engaged in research in the field of autism will be considered for this prestigious fellowship.  Candidate must provide professional support for the Burkhart Center in at least one area of its outreach programs, research projects or teacher education as it relates to autism spectrum disorders.  Fellowship may be re-awarded.  The Dean of the College of Education will oversee the selection of the Burkhart Fellow through the scholarship committee.

Burkhart Family Scholarship -  All level Special Education students in the College of Education will be considered for this scholarship.  Preference will be given to students volunteering service hours for activities in The Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research.  Scholarship may be re-awarded.  The Dean of the College of Education will oversee the selection of the Burkhart Scholarship through the scholarship committee with recommendations from the Director of the Burkhart Center.
