Discussion

Characteristics demonstrated by individuals with autism depend on the developmental levels of each individual in distinct areas.  These characteristics are general and cannot be stereotyped to all  children with autism. Excessive behaviors are those that occur repetitively in children with autistic disorders. Children with autistic disorders may also be lacking certain skills that are in need of development. This section will further explore each of these concepts.
