Principal Professional Certification Program

 

PRINCIPAL PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

 

The Educational Leadership Principal Professional Certification Program requires 45 semester hours of graduate study. Principal candidates complete a masters degree in Education (major in Educational Leadership) through completion of 36 semester credit hours (completion of the Foundation, Common, and Specialized Core areas, see Progression of Studies below). Principal candidates complete requirements for the Principal Professional Certification Program through completion of an additional 9 elective semester credit hours (see Progression of Studies below).

EDLD 5306 School-based Leadership (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5310 Instructional Supervision (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5330 Staff Development (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5340 Educational Law (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5350 School Personnel and Fiscal Management (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5351 Communication for School Leaders (3 semester hours)

SPECIALIZED CORE (9 semester hours)

EDLD 5361 Process of Educational Change (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5391 School and Community (3 semester hours)

EDLD 5392 Principal Internship (3 semester hours)

ELECTIVES (9 HOURS)

MGT 5377 Human Resource Management OR Instructional Leadership Training (ILT) and Professional Development and Supervision (PDAS) training (3 semester hours)

Two electives (EDLD 5001 [Advanced Workshop in Education] electives OR electives selected from EDBL, EDCI, EDEL, EDLL, EDSE, EDEC, EPSY, EDIT, or EDSP) (6 semester hours)
