The Department offers a program leading to a Doctor of Education degree with a major in CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION. Within the major several support areas are possible, including bilingual, elementary, language literacy, and secondary education. More information about the approved PhD program in C&I is available. The Department offers programs leading to a Master of Education degree in CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION, BILINGUAL EDUCATION, ELEMENTARY EDUCATION, LANGUAGE LITERACY EDUCATION, and SECONDARY EDUCATION. Programs leading to the professional teacher's certificate and associated endorsements are available. Individuals seeking initial certification to teach in elementary or secondary schools must complete specified courses in education and meet other general education and teaching field requirements. Information on the post baccalaureate program is available in the Department office. Information on teacher certification is included in the Undergraduate Catalog and the Department office. Information on admission standards, program requirements, and other matters concerning graduate programs in the Department may be obtained from the Department office or the Office of Graduate Education and Research in the College of Education.
